Online scammers often try to gain access to accounts or personal information through deceptive means (emails, phone calls, text messages etc.)
With your Lendahand account, you manage your impact investments. This also involves storing personal information such as your name and payment details. That’s why we continuously work to improve our platform and ensure your data remains well protected.
Your money and your personal data deserve strong security. Here’s how you can keep your account safe.
Recognizing and preventing phishing
Phishing is a form of online fraud where criminals pretend to be a trustworthy organization, such as a bank or company, in an attempt to steal money or personal information.
With these simple guidelines you can protect yourself from these deceptive tricks, especially when it comes to your Lendahand account.
Tips to recognize phishing scams
- By phone
Lendahand will never call you to ask for your password, personal information, or bank details, nor will we ever ask you to transfer money.
Rule of thumb: If you receive a call with an urgent request, hang up. Scammers often use pressure tactics, such as threatening to block your account immediately. Hang up and contact Lendahand to verify whether everything is fine with your account.
- By email
Received an email from Lendahand? Always check the sender’s address. Genuine Lendahand emails end with @lendahand.com.
Rule of thumb:- Spelling mistakes or unusual wording are signs that the email may not be from Lendahand.
- Need to click a link? Always check the domain name carefully.
- We will never ask you to share your login details by email.
- By SMS
Lendahand does not communicate via SMS. If you receive a text message that appears to come from us, do not click on any links and delete the message immediately.
This is how you protect your Lendahand account
Secure login
When you create or use your account, you log in with your email address and password. This is your account’s basic protection.
Always chose a strong password:
- At least 12 characters
- A unique password that you don’t use anywhere else
From now on, we’ll send a verification code to your email address every time you log in. This two-step verification ensures it’s really you trying to access your account.
Want an even safer and easier login? Use a passkey.
With a passkey, you no longer need to enter a password or verification code. You log in using something that’s uniquely yours, being facial recognition, a fingerprint, or a PIN on your own device.
Extra security with a passkey
Make logging in even more secure by setting up a passkey. It adds an extra layer of protection to your Lendahand account.
With a passkey, you don’t have to type a password. Instead, you confirm your identity with Face ID, Touch ID, or a personal PIN on your device.
Passkeys are considered a safer login method than traditional passwords or two-step verification. And they make logging in easier.
How a passkey works:
- You log in without a password. You no longer need one.
- Your passkey is securely stored on your device or in the cloud (such as Apple or Google), allowing you to log in on your other devices.
- When logging in, you confirm it’s you using your face, fingerprint, or PIN.
Haven’t set up a passkey yet? We recommend doing so as soon as possible!
How to set up a passkey:
The next time you log in, you’ll be able to create a passkey immediately. You can also skip this step and set it up later in your account settings.
- Log in to your account with two-step verification.
- Click ‘Create a passkey now’.
- Choose where to store your passkey: Google Password Manager, iCloud Keychain, or on your phone/tablet for example.
- We recommend saving it via Google or Apple so you can easily log in again, even on a new device.
- Follow the on-screen steps to complete setup.
You can later manage, add, or delete passkeys in your account settings under ‘Passkeys & Password’.

Safe Money Management
All payments on Lendahand go through your personal wallet. To prevent fraud, funds can only be withdrawn to your own bank account (the one you provided when creating your account).
Want to change this bank account number? We’ll immediately send you a confirmation email. For security reasons, you won’t be able to withdraw money until after the next business day after changing your bank account.
If you receive an email stating that your bank account number has been changed while you didn’t make that change yourself, please contact us right away at [email protected].
